Thierry Henry quits social media until abuse is treated the same way as 'copyright'

Recently the former striker has headed to social media to explain how he won't be using any media platforms until outlets enforce the same treatment used on copyright on the likes of bullying, racism, and other hate-crime.

Thierry Henry was known for being a legendary striker in the Arsenal ranks, obtaining top scorer on several occasions, even still retaining top assister in a premier league season with 20, the same as Kevin De Bruyne.

He was known for his quick thinking, fast pace, quick feet, and deadly finishing. In his 258 appearances in the Premier League, he scored 175 goals. That's 0.68 goals per match. He obtained 74 assists throughout his time as well, showing there was more to his game.

The forward man almost achieved a Champions League trophy at Arsenal in the 05-06 season but ended up losing 2-1 to Barcelona after Samuel Eto'o and Juliano Balleti scored two goals, he did win a Champions League when he transferred to Barcelona in the 08-09 season. Despite this defeat, the French Striker, who is seen as one of the best strikers to ever grace the pitch, won a golden title after going the whole premier league season unbeaten. An achievement only Preston North End has matched back in the 1888-89 season.

The player John Terry described as the "most feared striker" calling him "terrifying" and "the best by far" has recently reached out on Instagram and Twitter to tell the footballing world he's going to deactivate until discrimination is treated the same as "copyright."

"From tomorrow morning I will be removing myself from social media until the people in power can regulate their platforms with the same vigor and ferocity that they currently do when you infringe copyright."

With racism in football happening consistently, players and former players have finally had enough and are ready for massive changes to be put in place.

"The sheer volume of racism, bullying, and resulting mental torture to individuals is too toxic to ignore."

Henry described the abuse received as "Too toxic to ignore" clearly stating that the comments are out of hand and genuinely mentally deteriorating individuals and making negative impact on people's mental health.

"There HAS to be some accountability. It is far too easy to create an account, use it to bully and harass without consequence, and remain anonymous."

To make a social media account, all you need to do is require an Email and some personal information that you can easily fake and then a password. There are plenty of ways around this to stop individuals that use prejudiced terminology and target people for their entertainment. Accounts have been taken down in the past. People have even gone to court for their remarks, but still, this doesn't stop them from creating another account to commit cyberbullying again.

"Until this changes, I will be disabling my accounts across all social platforms. I'm hoping this happens soon."

Thierry Henry and a vast majority of individuals hope a change will be put into operation. If people comprehend by his actions, this may end up in a life-changing move that'll make social media a trustworthy place and not a poisonous, mentally deteriorating, and revolting place once for all.
