After a 3-3 draw against Lincoln City, Peterborough United have been promoted to the championship for the first time since the 2012/2013 season.
The promotion got Peterborough fans excited, with Peterborough fans charging up and down the streets of the Cambridgeshire city after clinching the promotion to the Championship.
Fans of all ages were seen patrolling up and down London Road and through the city centre, showing their appreciation and excitement towards their club getting promoted.
Peterborough United FC has always had the nickname The Posh ever since 1921, after ex-manager Pat Tirrell of Fletton United was reported, looking for 'Posh players for a posh new team.' A lot of people argue whether the words 'posh' and 'Peterborough' should be used together.

Peterborough United finished one place below following promoted team, Hull City. They are currently eight points from third place and the playoff spots, but since they obtained the draw against Lincoln City, this won't affect Peterborough in any way.
In the 45 games they have set out so far this season, they have received 25 wins, nine draws and 11 losses. A great return after a long run of seasons in League One.
Even with the promotion, rival fans and neutrals found a negative surrounding the result after a controversial penalty was given against Lincoln City. As the ball went into the box, a Peterborough player went into a Lincoln defender, but instead of the ref giving a decision the opposite way, he awarded the penalty.
Throughout the season, Peterborough had won games comfortably and are up there with the most wins with three + goals in all leagues. Peterborough is lone with seven games with this goal. The only teams with more games with three + goals are Stockport, Man City and League one winner's Hull City.
The co-owner of Peterborough was happy after the promotion and said: "We love this city and love these fans - we've been made to feel so welcome." The community and bond with owners have also played a big part in why Peterborough United are now in the Championship.
The fans of Peterborough United did celebrate a little early when they played Doncaster Rovers though on the 27th. After going 2-0 against the Yorkshire team, fans were seen releasing flairs and chanting that they've made it to the Championship. The fans quickly stopped though as the game finished 2-2.

In the 87 years that Peterborough has been a club, they have enjoyed 61 years in the football league. Next year when they're in the Championship this will only be their sixth time in the second tier. Other times when they were in the Championship were the 1992/93 season, 1993/94 season, 2009/10 season, 2011/12, 2012/13 and now 2021/22 season.
Another great achievement is that they've achieved 50 points from home this season, that's more than any club in League One. They reached this goal in the 2010/11 season as well. As they return to the Championship they hope their stay is more permanent this time.
Manager Darren Ferguson, who made the Championship promotion possible had a lot to say. He described the promotion as "difficult" as the thought of Peterborough going up hadn't "sunk" into Darren Ferguson yet.
He added: "It was a hell of a weekend, you look at it and we only needed a draw." "The team don't know when their defeat." "The big man stepped up (to the penalty) and smashed it in and that was it."
On the penalty, he said: "I was quite calm even though there was quite a lot of noise around me, I was thinking if he scores I need to calm the player down because there is still a couple of minutes to go."
"The chairmen were screaming it's going to be another minute don't put another sub on, Sammy played a ball back to the keeper and I was thinking 'what on earth are you doing,' but then I saw the ref put his whistle to his mouth and thought 'he isn't going to blow it."
"After that moment I can't talk about it otherwise I'll get emotional, it was unbelievable. The greatest feeling ever, the effort has been incredible. Two years of non-stop effort and I'm knackered now."
"The effort from the players, chairmen and owners has been amazing, It's been their first promotion and he gave a brilliant interview."
"Everyone was crying. It means a lot to everyone."
"The promotion meant the world to the team, you saw at the end, they were falling on the floor, crying with tears, the whole emotion came out, it's all came out, everything was released on Saturday."
"We deserve it, we deserve it, the group of players did amazing, all of them deserve it."
"It's worth it now, the pandemic has caused a huge challenge with communication with the players, we have managed to do it somehow."
Talking about the fitness of the team he said:
"It's a real team effort and the staff have been brilliant. Mark is a great coach and great guy and has learnt a lot since we've been apart. I've learnt of him this season, he's been brilliant, absolutely fantastic."
A lot of emotion shown by Darren Ferguson and the amount of effort that has been put in to get where he is now. He looks set to take on the challenge of Peterborough and make sure they make a staple point in the second division.
