My Stan Kroenke Protest Experience

The other day me and a couple of my friends made our way down to the Emirates to take part in a protest against Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke. Here I'll dump my favourite photos from the experience and give a brief explanation about it below!

ALL PHOTOS ARE TAKEN BY MY IPHONE XR!

The first photo shows three men working together in an attempt to recover their fading banner. What I liked about this photo is how you can practically smell the spray paint through the picture, especially if you was located at the stadium at the time. Another thing I like about this photo is the reaction and the emotion of the people around the banner and how you can obviously pick out what the banner is indicating and the message it's attempting to put across.

Throughout all the ESL and owner protests the saying "Created by the poor stolen by the rich" has circled a lot and this is an example of it. The small banner in this photo is wonderfully placed on the handles of a door, the words perfectly voice the stand point of Arsenal fans in this current situation. What I also love about this picture is the reflected Arsenal fans seen on the glass of the doors.

I was lucky enough to feature in one of the pictures on my trip to the Emirates. Here you see me chanting with a printed banner to put my point across. The picture was ultimately posted on famous football account "goal" on both Instagram and Twitter.

The crowds here shows the scenes of Emirates stadium at a later time, around two hours after the protest started at 6 o'clock. The fact it was this busy after two hours of protesting shows how much of a successful protest it was and more protests will be taking place before the next upcoming Arsenal home games to show how serious the fans voice truly is. People where located all around the top and the bottom of the box office all signaling their viewpoints.

Here are more late scenes around the other side of the Emirates where it was a lot more quite and peaceful, but at the other side of this stadium fireworks were going off and inside the stadium Arsenal was facing Everton in a game they ended up loosing 1-0. Ending Arsenals Friday streak.

I liked this picture because the focus point of it is the banner that I'm holding in front of the camera and then when we look past the banner we can see bigger banners, the media with big cameras and red smoked flares. At this point the protest had calmed down and fireworks ultimately finished off the protest.

I and my mates joined in with the protest quite early and these where a few of the other first protesters at the protest. As you see their opinion is clear, but what I find most cool about this picture is how empty the box office area was compared to about 45 minutes later when it was packed.

Another indication to how busy it got over a short period of time is shown in this picture, a few early protesters with their banners and signs at early stages, waiting for the storm to commence.

During my time at the 2 hour long protest this was one of the biggest and most stand out banners I saw. I like this one because it was straight to the point and got a message across in a non confrontational mater.

This picture shows a more hepatic side to what happened. We see the flares much more up close and personal and see the people throwing their hands in the air, chanting their chants.

This picture is a level up from the last one and shows people protesting on top of the box office where someone ended up falling off of and sustaining a bad head injury, In this picture you can also clearly point out the police doing their job. My favourite part of this picture though has to be the on fire American flag as Stan Kroenke is American. Something you can't see clearly on this photo is the man with dreadlocks who got beer bottles thrown at.

Here we have another banner on show saying "Give us our club back" clear messages from the passionate Arsenal fans.

I enjoyed the aesthetic of this picture and the afternoon sun shining towards the ground, it also shows a clear image of the stadium, the people around it and all the banners and signs on show.

More pictures showing flares, showing how many flares were bought for this protest. It's also clear who's holding the flair and ultimately I thought this was a cool and fresh photo.

I found this photo quite cold. Its a picture of one of the men who climbed the box office and refused to get down on police demand, holding a sign saying "we care, do your? Kroenke" right in front of the policemen and women with a nice grin on his face.
