Josh Kroenke and Vinai Venkatesham Interview Wrap Up With REDaction Gooners

After the ESL news broke out, a lot of Arsenal fans were unsurprised to see Stan Kroenke be amongst the names involved with the proposal.

Today, Stans son Josh Kroenke and Arsenal Chief Executive Vinai Venkatesham talked about their reasonings for joining the ESL at a meeting planned by REDaction Gooners.

Vinai started by showing sympathy from the decision, stating: we are really really sorry for Arsenal's part in a difficult week for football." Adding: "AFC are not authors of this proposal, despite many think. On this project 'the train was leaving the station', we decided to join. We made a bad decision, a terrible one."

"Those who know me know I care about this club, it was really tough, we have to repair, we made mistakes."

Stan Kroenke is currently one of the most hated men in football . His son Josh Kroenke joined this meeting and opened with: "I am here today to talk, and I echo Vinai's comments. Leadership is about recognising when you are wrong, correcting and apologizing."

He then used a famous Stoke remark to show how sorry he is.

"We asked ourselves, what is worse: ESL, or ESL without Arsenal? We also asked ourselves what do the fans want? The global fans want AFC vs Barca as often as possible. English fans want to see more big matches, but you still want your cold nights in Stoke. We got it wrong."

Even after getting the Stoke term wrong, Josh Kroenke continued trying to persuade Arsenal fans that it was never their intention to harm English Football.

"It was never our intention to harm English football, we can talk FFP, about racism, but for the football pyramids stability we need to ensure we are maximising revenue, but we went about it the wrong way on this occasion."

Huge Arsenal fan Akhil then got invited to the forum to ask the following question: "Are there fees due to ESL or withdrawal, and will KSE cover these or AFC?" In reply, Josh Kroenke said, "yes, KSE will cover it."

Akhil Vyas then followed up with a little rant against the billionaire's son.

"Do you not understand English football, you do not interact with fans, you have no clue, English football is clearly not for you, you should leave!"

After this comment, RH asked: "Do you believe the damage is repairable or will KSE be looking to sell their shares in Arsenal?"

Josh Kroenke replied to this comment saying: "We will rebuild, we believe we are fit to go forward with AFC, we were put in a difficult situation by sources outside the club."

We don't know what sources from outside the club put him in this situation but JK was reluctant to answer this question.

After the confusion, PH then once again pointed out the American by saying: "You said you have betrayed our trust, but let me be very clear, we have never trusted you or KSE. How will you try to improve your relationship with the fans."

To which Josh replied: "I want to get back to London, I want to do this. I am aware we never had trust, so we need to build a bridge, we will."

To this PH asked what will the Kroenke family do if another ESL proposal comes around.

"When the next Super League invite comes along, what will you do differently?" Josh Kroenke replied: "We will consult with fans, confidentiality makes it complicated, but we would gather more info if it came around again."

The interviewer was not very happy with this answer and saw it as "A wasted question."

Earlier in the interview, Kroenke said KSE will cover all the expense, he then brought it back up again, to which Vinai responded: "This is nowhere near the £8m mentioned. A wasted question in the short time REDaction Gooners had with KSE.

JW then asked: "how will the club ensure they can rebuild relationships with other clubs?" To which Vinai responded: "We made a terrible decision, now we need to make good ones. I have been in touch with all other 14 PL clubs to apologise for our part in this. We are working hard to rebuild our reputation.

A lot of sympathies shown throughout this interview by Arsenal Executive, which shows how highly he disliked the idea of the proposal.

@FKhanage then asked: "Self sustainability is not working, how will you be investing? And if not, when will you be selling AFC?"

Josh Kroenke then continued with his positive words that have turned out to be lies in the past: "We have big plans to invest, we have plans, we want to be great again, but a long term model does not support long term high investment. NO intention of selling."

The no intention of selling part will anger a lot of Arsenal fans and they hope to voice their opinion loudly at 6 PM before Arsenals home match against Everton.

Josh Kroenke ended the short meeting by saying: "It's been a crazy week, we have not represented the club well, we have learned." He then carelessly turned off his laptop, got back on his high horse and started drinking some 2 million pound champagne whilst laughing to his dad on the phone about it.

A very weak meeting with very few questions, a lot more chances to push the edges and ultimately the meeting didn't hinder Josh Kroenke at all, the protest on Friday now looks more pivotal than ever for AFC, a 50+ 1 model is needed more than ever from the Prime minister so fans can have more say about the club they love. Will Boris Johnson save the day once again?
